Project Description

Lourmarin and its surroundings

Lourmarin is a lovely village which has managed to remain compact but packs a mighty punch when it comes to liveliness and variety.

Whether sipping a glass of wine on a cafe terrace, browsing in one of the many shops or listening to a concert in the impressive castle, the village offers a wonderful base for an authentic experience of Provence.

Surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and almond trees, there are lots of opportunities for walks and cycle rides.

The Luberon National Park lends itself to hiking, cycling, visiting local markets, sampling wine and olive oil and exploring some of the many hill top villages.

Fascinating towns such as Aix en Provence, Marseilles, Avignon and Arles, are within easy reach and in the summer there is a wealth of local festivals, for example Festival Yeah, art exhibitions and conferences.

The International Piano Festival at La Roque D’Anthéron takes place over a month each summer and is an easy car journey away as are the various venues in the annual Festival du Sud Luberon.

Areas such as the Carmargue and Les Alpilles are nearby, as are the mountains and the coast.
